Diffusing Power

When I think of diffusion of power I think of power being distributed amongst the students. This way each student has a sense of autonomy and control. Encouraging students and giving them constructive feedback is a form of empowerment that can benefit a students interest and performance in school. With this I feel like students may feel as if the teacher cares about them, and this may change their temperament for the better. When teachers can show interest in their students, it helps develop a strong and positive teacher-student relationship. Teachers should establish this concept of empowerment and decision making early on in education in order to teach the value of responsibility and prepare for them for more difficult decisions they will be making in the future.

It may be easier to alter a child's temperament early on in life by using techniques such as positive reinforcement and encouragement. As oppose to viewing oneself as the authoritative figure in the classroom. I feel this would lead to a better diffusion of power.

I agree, and another type of empowerment of the students is involving the students in the assessment process to support learning. Involving the students in self and peer assessment not only, can enhance their learning but also can prevent the misbehavior.
