Collaborating with different personalities is about compromising.
There will be people that you clash with and those that you mesh well with.
And hopefully you have encounter more of the latter than the former.
Don't judge a book by its cover will help with collaboration.
By getting to know your co-workers the work environment will be a lot better and collaboration will help.
In a sense of high school, (since I plan to teach in a high school), having a good relationships with other teachers will make it more easy to talk to them about students that you share. You can then figure out if a student have consistent problems in his other classes.
There will be clashes among colleagues but I believe one should be more humble and be the nicer person.
It is also a give and take situation with collaboration.
If a teacher helps you, you should help them in return.
Be active and take the initiative and it be all nice and dandy.
As Ashely said about having an open mind is critical when working with others, it is also critical to expect criticism and judgment from others. Sure you out of the goodness of your heart is asking for a collaboration, co-workers will bring up adjustments and advice. One should be open to it. I am not saying you necessarily have to take the advice but just be open to it
