Discipline or Punishment
The dictionary definition of Discipline is "the practice of making people obey rules or standards of behaviour" and the dictionary definition of Punishment is "the act of punishing someone or of being punished" As we see their meaning at dictionary the meaning of those two words are very different. The discipline can be a fundmental solution and it is essential in education. On the other hand, Punishment is a part of discipline and it is not essential in education. The punishment will contribute to the temporary solution but will not contribute to the fundmental solution of misbehaving. The manner of discipline is very important and have studied a lot in education field. People can be changed differently depends on how teachers discipline them. On the other hand, Punishment is known as a manner of discipline that has only bad effects. In fact, excessive and frequent punishment affect negatively to people. But punishment is sometiems necessary in the worst situation and need to be used sometimes. Of course, the best way of the discipline is training people without punishment. Teacher or parents should not punish children. Just in special case, teacher or parents need to use punishment wisely when it is absolutely necessary.
